The Union Health Ministry has appointed Dr Vandana Talwar as the new medical superintendent of the central government-run Safdarjung Hospital. Dr Talwar, who is currently serving in the Department of Anesthesia will take charge of the post from June 22, 2023.

Dr Talwar will replace Dr BL Sherwal.

“Dr Vandana Talwar, Consultant (Anesthesia), SJH Hospital is hereby appointed as Medical Superintendent, Safdarjung Hospital wef 22.06.2023,” read an order issued by Dilip Kumar Sahu, Under Secretary to the Government of India.

The order further read that in the intervening period, Dr Vandana Talwar will function as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the MS office in SJH with immediate effect and all matters handled by the incumbent MS, SJH, shall be routed through Dr Talwar till he hands over the charge of MS.
