Dr Ranjana Pathak to take over as Chief Quality Officer at Lupin from Johnny Mikell

Mumbai-based global pharmaceutical major Lupin Limited is a leading pharmaceutical company focused on innovation. It operates across more than 100 markets worldwide, including the United States, India, South Africa, and regions across Asia Pacific, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. It has announced a significant change in its leadership team. Dr Ranjana Pathak has been appointed as the new Chief Quality Officer, taking over from Johnny Mikell, who is retiring from the company. 



In a statement, Lupin said that Dr Pathak, with more than thirty years of experience in the industry, brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. She will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality and regulatory compliance across Lupin's global operations.


Pointing out that Dr Pathak has held prominent positions in various pharmaceutical companies before joining Lupin, the statement added that he previously served as the Global Head for Quality and Pharmacovigilance at Dr Reddy’s and as the President and Global Head of Quality, Medical Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance at Cipla. 

Her extensive experience also includes leadership roles at Watson, Actavis, and Endo Pharmaceuticals in the United States. Dr Pathak's expertise spans across both generic and brand medicines, covering various dosage platforms such as injectables, inhalation products, and biologics.


In its statement, Lupin expresses gratitude to Johnny Mikell for his contributions to the company during his five-year tenure. 

Lupin's CEO, Vinita Gupta, and Managing Director, Nilesh Gupta, expressed their delight in welcoming Dr. Pathak to the executive leadership team. They highlighted her global experience and track record in fostering a culture of quality and compliance, which resonates with Lupin's commitment to delivering top-notch products to the communities it serves.
