Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Concludes Successful Blood Donation Drive

 Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Limited, renowned for its innovative approach to healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturing, has successfully concluded a series of blood donation drives held from June 5th to June 7th, 2024. The events, conducted across the company’s facilities in Uttarakhand, witnessed extensive participation from employees, resulting in the collection of 1381 units of blood.


The initiative, aligned with Akums' commitment to community welfare and healthcare enhancement, aimed to raise awareness and address the ongoing demand for blood supplies in hospitals and blood banks. Employees of Akums enthusiastically participated, embodying the spirit of altruism and community service.

Blood donation is crucial for saving lives, particularly for those with rare blood types who often face shortages. Akums annually organizes blood donation camps in Uttarakhand to meet this urgent need and promote awareness. This year’s drive was particularly impactful, reflecting the company’s dedication to social responsibility.

Sandeep Jain, Co-founder and Joint Managing Director of Akums, highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating, "We are immensely proud of our employees who have once again demonstrated their altruism and commitment to serving the community. The drives were made possible through the cooperation and support of several partner hospitals and authorities. Key partnering institutions included the Government Blood Bank, District Hospital Haridwar, Shri Swami Bhumanand Hospital, Government Doon Hospital Dehradun, CMS Negi Base Hospital Kotdwar, Maa Gange Blood Bank Jageetpur, Kankhal, Haridwar, Mother Teressa Blood Bank Roorkee, and the Himalayan Institute, Jolly Grant, Dehradun.

In anticipation of World Blood Donation Day on June 14th, the extensive drive has inspired many, with a large number of employees participating and encouraging others to engage in social responsibility. The program was inaugurated during a grand event by Shri Sandeep Jain, alongside Smt. Archana Jain, the President of Akums Health & Educational Trust (Akums Foundation), and the Chief Medical Officer, Shri Manish Dutt from Haridwar.

The blood donation drives organized by Akums reflect the company's enduring values of empathy, solidarity, and compassion towards society. By actively engaging in such initiatives, Akums continues to set an example for corporate citizenship and community engagement.
