Health Walk Celebrates Doctors' Day with Over 3000 Participants in Delhi

On the occasion of Doctors' Day, the Indian Medical Association East Delhi Branch organized a triumphant Health Walk, drawing a crowd of more than 3000 doctors and paramedics on Sunday morning at Connaught Place, Delhi. This event, supported by the Delhi Medical Association and 12 branches of DMA, highlighted a collective commitment to promoting community health and wellness.

The Health Walk commenced with enthusiasm as it was flagged off by Dr. Anil Kumar J Nayak, Honorary Secretary General of IMA-EDB HQ, and inaugurated by Shri Harsh Malhotra Ji, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport. The event also saw the esteemed presence of Dr. Raj Bhushan Choudhary Ji, Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Government of India, and Dr. Shakuntala Shrivastav, CMO Projects NDMC, as Guests of Honour.

Dr. Vinay Aggarwal, the Patron of the Health Walk, delivered a poignant message to medical professionals, urging them to prioritize their own health and that of their families. "As doctors, we often neglect our own well-being while caring for others, leading to premature loss of many precious lives in the medical community," he emphasized.

Dr. Radha Jain, President of IMA EDB, expressed her satisfaction with the event's success, remarking, "This Health Walk underscores our commitment to setting an example. On Doctors' Day, we emphasize the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle not only for our patients but for everyone."

Dr. Mamta Thakur, Secretary of IMA EBD, praised the doctors and paramedics for their participation, highlighting how their involvement showcased the profession's spirit of community and care.

Organizing Secretaries Dr. Piyush Jain and Dr. Ajay Lekhi advised the public to adopt healthy habits and lifestyles, noting the myriad benefits of daily walking. They emphasized that regular walking contributes to maintaining healthy weight, improving cardiovascular fitness, strengthening bones and muscles, boosting energy levels, and enhancing mood, memory, sleep, and emotional well-being.

The Health Walk concluded on a high note, reinforcing the medical community's dedication to advocating for preventive healthcare and overall wellness.
