Lilavati Hospital Celebrates Christmas with Joyous Celebration for Underprivileged Children
In the true spirit of Christmas, Lilavati Hospital once again demonstrated its commitment to giving back to society, organizing a grand celebration for children from Rural Ashram schools and those who have undergone cochlear implant surgeries. The event, filled with fun activities, laughter, and festive cheer, brought together over 300 children from the Palghar district of Maharashtra, as well as 100 cochlear implant recipients, OPD, and IPD patients.
The hospital’s board of trustees, along with the management team, were present to bless the children, wishing them a brighter future and offering a sense of hope and positivity. The day was filled with a variety of activities, including a magic show, dance performances, and a photography session. The children also received exciting gifts and indulged in delicious snacks, making the celebration a memorable experience for all.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the special appearance of Santa Claus, who delighted the children by spreading holiday cheer. The event not only brought joy but also served as a reminder of the power of togetherness and community support, especially for those from marginalized backgrounds.
Shri. Rajiv Mehta, Permanent Trustee of Lilavati Hospital, emphasized the hospital’s ongoing commitment to uplifting the underprivileged, stating, “The Christmas celebration is not just about the festivities but aims to uplift marginalized sections of society. By combining healthcare excellence with community-based campaigns and initiatives, the hospital is out and out to make a difference in the lives of countless individuals.”
The event was held under the thoughtful guidance of Smt. Charu Mehta, Founder and Permanent Trustee of Lilavati Hospital. Shri. Prashant Mehta, another Permanent Trustee, added, “This Christmas celebration will foster a sense of community and joy among these children. At Lilavati Hospital, we go beyond healthcare to create a holistic environment where every child feels supported, loved, and empowered. We hope to build confidence in children, nurture their dreams, and equip them to face life’s challenges with courage.”
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Chief Operating Officer at Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in building a brighter future: “This event is a reminder that every child deserves an equal chance to thrive, and we are honored to play a part in making that a reality. Such initiatives are designed to lay a strong foundation for a brighter and inclusive future for everyone. We strive further to launch crucial path-breaking initiatives for improving the quality of life of those in need.”
For many of the children from Rural Ashram schools, this Christmas celebration marked their first visit to Mumbai. Traveling to the bustling city from the serene surroundings of Palghar was an exciting experience, filled with both anticipation and nervousness. However, once they arrived at Lilavati Hospital, the welcoming atmosphere and fun-filled activities helped them feel at ease. Their faces lit up with joy, making the event truly unforgettable.
Shri. Mohit Mathur, Permanent Trustee at Lilavati Hospital, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to host the children: “We were elated to welcome children from Rural Ashram schools who visited Mumbai for the very first time. The opportunity to host them at Lilavati Hospital allowed us to create an environment where they felt comfortable and cherished. It was a privilege to be a part of their journey and to give them an experience that brought so much positivity and warmth into their lives.”
As Lilavati Hospital continues to embody the spirit of giving, this Christmas celebration served as a reminder of the profound impact healthcare institutions can have on the lives of underprivileged children. By combining festive joy with a commitment to social upliftment, the hospital reaffirmed its dedication to improving the lives of those in need.
