DPSRU Mega Innovation Festival & Health Hack Ignites Innovation and Shaping Future Entrepreneurs

The Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) recently hosted the DPSRU Mega Innovation Festival & Health Hack 5.0, in collaboration with the DPSRU Innovation and Incubation Foundation (DIIF) and the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council. The five-day event became a hotbed of innovation, entrepreneurship, and intellectual genius, bringing together people from all across India to exchange ideas, showcase talent, and impact the future of healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and commercial innovation. 

The festival thrived under Prof. V. Ravichandran's innovative guidance as Vice-Chancellor of DPSRU and Chairman of DIIF. His dedication to fostering an innovative culture was evident throughout the well-prepared event. Prof. Harvinder Popli, Director of DIIF, and Dr Ramchander Khatri, Officiating Registrar of DPSRU, oversaw the event's smooth execution, with the help of a devoted team of teachers and volunteers. Prof. Geeta Aggarwal and Prof. Meenakshi Chauhan, DIIF's in-charges, worked closely with Dr Amanpreet Kaur and Dr Sumit Sharma, DIIF's nodal officers, and Ms Ruchi Singh, the event coordinator, to ensure the event's success.

The festival began on March 17 with a magnificent opening ceremony attended by Mr Eaishvarya Prakash, founder of Eaishman Pharma, who delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of innovation in pharmaceuticals and the startup environment. Following the Lighting of the Lamp and the DPSRU Kulgeet, the stage was set for five days of lively debates and competition. 

The Futurist competition on the first day featured intensive conversations about real-world economic and commercial concerns, laying the groundwork for a thought-provoking week. March 18 was dedicated to healthcare innovation, with Medileaf encouraging pharmaceutical students to create significant health papers for doctors and Quizzard testing participants' understanding of medicines, healthcare policy, and business dynamics. 

ADhbhut, an advertising competition that combined narrative and branding, sparked a wave of creativity on March 19. The Invoprenor mentorship workshop provided participants with insights regarding improving business pitches, market strategy, and expanding firms. As the festival reached its zenith on March 20, high-stakes events such as Invoprenor and Branding Bootcamp pushed competitors to demonstrate their entrepreneurial skills and strategic thinking. Startup Strategist, a case study-based challenge, required players to develop novel business models and financial frameworks. 

The final day, March 21, featured a profound panel discussion on AI in healthcare and intellectual property (IP), with industry experts delving into how artificial intelligence is revolutionising medical diagnostics and drug discovery while emphasising the importance of IP protection for groundbreaking innovations. Dr J.N. Verma, Chairman of the Board of Governors of DPSRU and Founder and Director of Life Care Innovations Pvt. Ltd., delivered the closing address, inspiring students to continue exploring new regions in research and entrepreneurship. 

The festival's concluding ceremony featured a prize distribution event, awarding ₹75,000 in cash awards for ten competitions. The renowned Best School Trophy was awarded to the institution with the most cumulative points, recognising its spirit of quality and competitiveness. 

Over 20 esteemed industry experts attended the event, not only to judge the competitions but also to mentor participants. Their skills enhanced the program, providing participants with significant insights into entrepreneurship, branding, healthcare innovation, and strategic business growth. Mr. Neeraj Pant, Er. Dolly Bhasin, Mr. Gurmeet Singh, Mr. Vinod Arora, Ms. Sangeeta, Mr. Tavinderjeet Singh, Ms. Abhilasha Agarwal, Mr. Vishwaroop Bhattacharya, Ms. Paulumi Bhattacharya, Mr. Vishal Gandhi, Mr. Vivek Singh, Dr. Naveen Jain, Dr. Surender Singh, and Dr. Manju Mani were among the distinguished panellists. 

Aside from competitions and panel talks, the campus was alive with interactive stalls where students displayed new items, interacted with visitors through inventive games, and pitched their business ideas. The joyful atmosphere promoted networking and knowledge exchange, establishing a culture of creativity and cooperation. 

The DPSRU Mega Innovation Festival & Health Hack 5.0 was more than a festival; it was a movement that changed the way academic institutions foster innovation and industrial partnership. Prof. Harvinder Popli, Prof. Geeta Aggarwal, Prof. Meenakshi Chauhan, Dr. Amanpreet Kaur, Dr. Sumit Sharma, and Ms. Ruchi Singh, as well as the dedicated E-Cell core staff and volunteers, worked tirelessly to ensure the event's success. As Dr Madhu Gupta, Associate Professor and PRO at DPSRU, stated, "This mega event has left a lasting legacy of inspiration, collaboration, and groundbreaking ideas." It has cemented DPSRU's reputation as a leader in innovation and entrepreneurship. 

When the event ended, it left a path of emboldened young minds poised to lead the next wave of disruptive change. This transformative five-day adventure will have a lasting impact on the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
