Atenolol and Nitrendipine

Atenolol is a beta-blocker used to treat hypertension and angina. Nitrendipine is a calcium channel blocker used for hypertension.

Indications

Hypertension (high blood pressure).


Dosage

Dosage may vary based on individual patient needs. Typically, Atenolol 50-100 mg daily and Nitrendipine 10-20 mg daily.


Contra-Indications

Known hypersensitivity to Atenolol or Nitrendipine, severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, or uncontrolled heart failure.


Special Precautions

Use with caution in patients with compromised cardiac function, hepatic impairment, and those prone to hypotension.


Side Effects

Common side effects may include fatigue, dizziness, headache, bradycardia (slow heart rate), and peripheral edema.


Drug Interactions

Atenolol may interact with other beta-blockers, antidepressants, and antihypertensive medications. Nitrendipine may interact with other calcium channel blockers and medications affecting hepatic enzymes.
