Albendazole
Albendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic medication used to treat a variety of parasitic worm infestations. It works by inhibiting the growth and multiplication of parasites, effectively eliminating them from the body.Single or mixed-intestinal worm infestation aused by NEMATODES-Roundworm, Hookworm, Threadworm, strongyloides, whipworm. CESTODES-Tpeworms(Hydatid disease, cysticercosis)
Adults and children above 2 yrs: 400 mg as a single dose. Strongyloidiasis. Taiasis, H. nana infections: 400 mg once daily for 3 consecutive days. Hydatid disease: 400 mg twice daily with meals for 28 days. Thrapy may be repeated after 14 days interval for a total of 3 cycles.
-Hypersensitivity to Albendazole or any components of the formulation. -Pregnancy, especially during the first trimester unless the benefits outweigh the risks. Breastfeeding (caution advised).
Patients with hepatic or renal disease. In woman of child earing age administer within 7 days of start of normal menstruation. Paediatrics: Cntraindicated in children below 1 year of age. Pregnancy: Contraindicated. Lactation: Contraindicated.

Antidiabetic agents potentiates their actin, H2 antagonists increases the plasma concentration of albendazole.
