ALUMINIUM HYDROXIDE
Aluminium Hydroxide is an inorganic compound used as an antacid to relieve symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, and upset stomach. It works by neutralizing excess stomach acid.-Relief of symptoms associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) -Treatment of peptic ulcers -Management of gastritis and hyperacidity -Alleviation of symptoms related to indigestion and heartburn
-Adults: 300 to 600 mg taken 1 to 3 times daily, usually after meals and at bedtime. -Children: Dosage should be adjusted based on body weight and is usually determined by a healthcare provider.
-Hypersensitivity to Aluminium Hydroxide or any of its components -Severe kidney impairment or renal failure -Hyperphosphatemia (elevated phosphate levels)
-Use with caution in patients with renal dysfunction -Prolonged use may lead to aluminum toxicity -Monitor serum phosphate levels during long-term use -Not recommended for individuals with a history of kidney stones
-Constipation -Aluminum toxicity (rare, with long-term use) -Nausea -Abdominal pain
-May reduce the absorption of other medications such as tetracyclines and certain antibiotics -Avoid simultaneous use with other antacids or medications containing calcium or magnesium
