AMLODIPINE WITH ATENOLOL
AMLODIPINE WITH ATENOLOL is a 'anti-hypertensive' drug used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a chronic or permanent disorder in which the blood pressure against the arterial walls becomes excessively high. This can result in blood vessel damage, heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and other complications. AMLODIPINE+ATENOLOL is a combination of calcium channel blockers & beta blockers. While Amlodipine relaxes and expands narrowed blood arteries, reducing heart workload and increasing efficiency, Atenolol inhibits stress hormones, lowering heart rate and controlling high blood pressure, reducing the risk of future heart attacks or strokes.Amlodipine and atenolol combination is used to treat high blood pressure and heart problems such as chest pain (angina pectoris).
As prescribed by the attending physician
If you have experienced an allergic reaction to AMLODIPINE+ATENOLOL, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have liver or kidney disease, heart failure, a heart valve problem, or a history of a heart attack, or are taking blood pressure medication, it is important to inform your doctor. Monitor blood pressure and continue taking the medication without sudden cessation without consulting a doctor. Drink enough water while taking the medication, but avoid excessive amounts to prevent excess load on the kidneys.
Nausea, sleepiness, ankle swelling, headache, palpitations, low blood pressure, cold extremities, flushing (a feeling of warmth in the ears, face, neck, and trunk), slow heart rate, oedema (swelling), constipation, and weariness are the most common side effects of AMLODIPINE+ATENOLOL. They do not require medical care and will resolve on their own. However, if the side effects persist, consult the attending physician.
