Telangana Hosts World Meditation Day Mega Event, Showcasing India’s Timeless Wisdom
In a mass celebration emphasizing India's enduring role in promoting meditation and holistic well-being on the occasion of World Meditation Day, the Government of Telangana, in collaboration with the Heartfulness Institute, organized a mass meditation event on December 21, 2024. The event.
Many dignitaries, including Governor of Telangana Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and Minister for Tourism & Culture Jupally Krishna Rao, were present to mark the occasion.
The meditation session was led by Rev.Daaji, Guide of Heartfulness and President of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission.
A staunch advocate of integrating meditation into daily life, Rev.Daaji highlighted the concept of "thought-pollution" and urged the United Nations to recognize it as the 18th Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG).
“We are very happy to support the Government of Telangana in this meditation initiative this World Meditation Day,, Dadji said.
Pointing out that only through meditation can humanity reach Divinity, he added, “We are talking about balancing both the spiritual and material aspects of life and achieving the highest level of consciousness.”
He further remarked that a collective consciousness is possible through tackling thought-pollution, which I hope is integrated as the 18th UNSD.
The event underscored the Government of Telangana's commitment to reviving India's ancient meditative traditions while addressing contemporary issues like mental health, stress, and decision-making.

With over 20,000 participants attending, the mass meditation event symbolized a renewed global interest in Indian practices of mindfulness and consciousness.
