Amorolfine

Indications

Superficial fungal infection.

Dosage

Nail fungal infection, as 5%nail lacquer. Apply onto infected fingernails or toenails once or twice weekly after filing and cleansing, allow or dry. Continue until nail is regenerated and affected areas cured. Usual treatment duration 6 months (fingernails) and 9-12 month (teo nails). Skin fungal infection, as 0.25% cream. Apply once daily in the evening after cleansing for at least 2-3 wk (upto 6 wk for foot infections). Continue for 3-5 days after cure is attained

Contra-Indications

Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions

Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes and ears. Avoid Varnish or nail polish during nail treatment. Pregnancy - Safety not established, Lactation - Safety not established.

Side Effects

Skin irritation with erythema and pruritus; slight transient burning sensation (rare), hypersensitivity reactions.
