Arbutin

Arbutin is a glycosylated hydroquinone derivative known for its skin-brightening properties. It is commonly used in topical formulations to lighten hyperpigmentation and improve skin tone.

Indications

-Skin lightening -Treatment of hyperpigmentation (e.g., age spots, melasma) -Improvement of overall skin tone


Dosage

-Topical Use: Apply a thin layer of Arbutin-containing cream or serum to the affected areas twice daily, or as directed by a healthcare provider. -Dosage varies depending on the concentration of Arbutin in the product.


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to Arbutin or any of the product’s other ingredients. -Use in patients with severe eczema or dermatitis should be avoided.


Special Precautions

-Conduct a patch test before full application to avoid potential allergic reactions. -Avoid direct contact with the eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. -Use sunscreen during the day as Arbutin can make the skin more sensitive to sunlight.


Side Effects

-Mild irritation or redness -Dryness or peeling of the skin -Allergic reactions (rare)
