ATASI / ALSI / FLAX SEEDS

Atasi or alsi is also known as Flax plant and is widely used in the Indian traditional medicinal system ( Ayurveda). It exhibits antiallergic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, carminative, antioxidant, hepato-protective and immuno-suppressant activities.

Indications

Skin infections, gout, rheumatism, atherosclerosis, hypercholesterolemia, pain, fever, inflammation, and asthma.


Dosage

The average recommended dose for alsi powder ( Churna) is 3 to 6 grams and for alsi oil is 4 -10 ml.


Contra-Indications

Diarrhoea, constipation, hypersensitivity associated with alsi.


Special Precautions

Consult a doctor before taking alsi during pregnancy and breastfeeding.


Side Effects

Allergic reactions like itching, rash, irritation, vomiting. Stomach pain, dizziness, and breathlessness.
