Dextromethorphan Hbr, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Pseudoephedrine Hcl
This medication is a combination of three active ingredients: Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, and Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride. It is commonly used to treat symptoms associated with colds, allergies, and upper respiratory infections.-Relief of cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation -Relief of nasal congestion -Relief of symptoms caused by allergies or the common cold, such as runny nose, sneezing, and itchy or watery eyes
Adults and children 12 years and older: Typically, 1-2 teaspoons (5-10 mL) every 4-6 hours, not exceeding 4 doses in 24 hours. Children 6-12 years: Typically, 1 teaspoon (5 mL) every 4-6 hours, not exceeding 4 doses in 24 hours. Children under 6 years: Consult a physician before use.
-Hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients or excipients -Concurrent or recent (within 14 days) use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) -Severe hypertension, severe coronary artery disease -Narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention
-Use with caution in patients with high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, thyroid disease, glaucoma, enlarged prostate, or urinary retention -Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants while taking this medication -Use with caution in elderly patients, as they may be more sensitive to the effects -Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women without medical advice
-Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth/nose/throat, blurred vision, headache, upset stomach, constipation -Serious: Severe allergic reactions (rash, itching/swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing), confusion, hallucinations, tremors, seizures, irregular heartbeat, difficulty urinating
-MAO inhibitors: Can cause serious, potentially fatal interactions -Alcohol and other CNS depressants: Can increase drowsiness and dizziness -Antihypertensive drugs: May reduce their effectiveness -Antidepressants, other sympathomimetic drugs: Can increase the risk of side effects
