Dorzolamide Hcl is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor used in the treatment of glaucoma, specifically to reduce intraocular pressure.

Indications

Treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma.


Dosage

Typically, one drop in the affected eye(s) three times daily, as prescribed by the healthcare provider.


Contra-Indications

Hypersensitivity to dorzolamide or any component of the formulation.


Special Precautions

Caution in patients with sulfonamide allergy; monitor for corneal effects; avoid contact lens use during treatment.


Side Effects

Common side effects include ocular burning, stinging, and bitter taste; less commonly, corneal edema or blurred vision may occur.
