ENTAMYCIN

ENTAMYCIN is an antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping the growth of bacteria.

Indications

ENTAMYCIN is indicated for the treatment of: -Respiratory tract infections -Skin infections -Urinary tract infections -Gastrointestinal infections -Bone and joint infections


Dosage

-Adults: 250-500 mg every 6-8 hours. -Children: Dosage should be adjusted according to weight and infection severity.


Contra-Indications

ENTAMYCIN should not be used in individuals with: -Hypersensitivity to erythromycin or other macrolide antibiotics -Severe liver impairment -History of jaundice or hepatic dysfunction


Special Precautions

-Use with caution in patients with liver disease. -Monitor for potential allergic reactions. -Adjust dosage for patients with renal impairment.


Side Effects

-Nausea and vomiting -Diarrhea -Abdominal pain -Rash -Liver enzyme abnormalities
