Flumethasone is a potent synthetic corticosteroid used for its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. It is often employed to treat various inflammatory and allergic conditions.

Indications

-Inflammatory conditions such as eczema and dermatitis -Allergic reactions -Autoimmune disorders like lupus and rheumatoid arthritis -Certain types of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)


Dosage

-Adults: Typically, 0.5 mg to 1 mg daily, adjusted according to the severity of the condition. -Children: Dosage should be adjusted based on weight and the specific condition being treated.


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to Flumethasone or other corticosteroids -Active or latent tuberculosis -Systemic fungal infections -Certain viral infections, such as herpes simplex


Special Precautions

-Use with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, or peptic ulcer disease. -Monitor for signs of infection, as corticosteroids can mask symptoms. -Gradual dose tapering is recommended to avoid adrenal insufficiency.
