Gum paints are a combination of antiseptics & tanning agents. They are used for local application to the gums during severe bacterial infections & their inflammatory conditions. When applied they rovide a cooling, soothing, astringent effect & they have germicidal, fungicidal, anaesthetic & healing properties used in the treatment of stomatitis, inflammed/bleeding/spongy & painful gum conditions. Reduce sensitivity & increase gingival resistance against infections. Antiseptic gargles & mouthwashes are used for oral hygiene. Under conditions of severe bacterial infections, antibiotics are employed as additional medication. Toothpastes containing formalin are used for sensitive teeth & gums.Strontium chloride is combined to provide better tooth protection & for painful hypersensitive (to hot, cold or mechanical stimuli) teeth. Strontium chloride effectively & speedily blocks the micro-tubuar fibrillae on the exposed dentine, thus eliminating the transmission of painful neural stimuli. Mouthwashes, gum paints, and medicated toothpastes are oral care products formulated to maintain oral hygiene, treat specific dental conditions, and promote gum health. These products typically contain active ingredients such as antibacterial agents, fluoride, herbal extracts, and essential oils to address various oral health concerns.

Indications

Mouthwashes: -Freshen breath -Reduce plaque and gingivitis -Assist in preventing tooth decay -Provide temporary relief from mouth dryness Gum Paints: -Treat gum inflammation (gingivitis) -Relieve pain and discomfort from oral ulcers -Aid in tightening gums Medicated Toothpastes: -Prevent and control dental caries (cavities) -Reduce sensitivity -Maintain overall oral health


Dosage

-Mouthwashes: Use as directed on the label, typically rinse with 20-30 ml for 30 seconds to 1 minute, twice daily after brushing. -Gum Paints: Apply a small amount directly to affected gums using a cotton swab or as advised by a dentist. -Medicated Toothpastes: Use a pea-sized amount on a toothbrush and brush teeth thoroughly for at least two minutes, twice daily.


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients -Avoid swallowing mouthwash or toothpaste -Consult a dentist before use if pregnant or breastfeeding


Special Precautions

-Keep out of reach of children -Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight -Do not use beyond the expiration date -Avoid contact with eyes; rinse thoroughly if contact occurs


Side Effects

-Possible allergic reactions such as rash or swelling -Temporary discoloration of teeth with some medicated toothpastes -Mouth irritation or dryness with prolonged use
