it is phosphodiaterase inhibitor which relaxes smooth muscle and dilates the vessels.

Indications

-Treatment of smooth muscle spasms -Management of certain types of angina -Improvement of blood flow in conditions like peripheral vascular disease


Dosage

-Adults: The typical dose ranges from 30 to 60 mg administered orally 3 to 4 times a day. -Intravenous: For acute situations, 5 to 10 mg can be administered every 2 to 4 hours as needed.


Contra-Indications

Complete AV block, sickle-cell anaemia, multiple myeloma or leukaemia, preexisting penile fibrosis, anatomical deformation of penis, penile implants.


Special Precautions

-Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease. -Monitor blood pressure regularly during treatment. -Caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.


Side Effects

-Dizziness -Nausea -Flushing -Headache -Constipation


Drug Interactions

-May interact with other vasodilators, potentially increasing the risk of hypotension. -Caution with concurrent use of certain antihypertensive medications and other drugs that affect blood pressure.
