Pindolol

It is a non-selective beta-blocker with intrinsic sympathomimetic activity.

Indications

It is used for the treatment of hypertension, angina.

Dosage

5 mg twice a day.

Contra-Indications

Asthma, bradycardia, A-V block, shock, hypotension, hyperthyroidism, shock.

Special Precautions

To be used with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment. Used during pregnancy only after outweighing the potential risk to fetus. Secreted in milk and women on this medicine are advised to abstain from nursing children.

Side Effects

Anxiety, depression, headache, diarrhea, nausea, dry or burning eyes, nausea, confusion, skin rashes, chest pain, cold or tingling hands and feet.

Drug Interactions

Phenothiazines, sotalol, digoxin, reserpine.
