Indications

-Treatment and prevention of Vitamin B6 deficiency -Management of certain types of anemia -Supportive therapy in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy -Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy (as part of combination therapy) -Seizure disorders in infants with pyridoxine dependency -Certain metabolic disorders such as homocystinuria

Dosage

-Adults: 10-20 mg per day for deficiency. For other conditions, the dosage may vary as prescribed by a healthcare professional. -Pregnant Women: Up to 25 mg per day to manage nausea and vomiting (as prescribed). -Children: Doses are based on age, weight, and condition; typically 0.3 mg/kg per day.

Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to Pyridoxine Hydrochloride or any component of the formulation -Certain genetic conditions that affect the metabolism of Vitamin B6

Special Precautions

-Long-term or high-dose use can lead to sensory neuropathy. -Use with caution in patients with Parkinson's disease as it may interact with certain medications like Levodopa. -Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a healthcare professional before use.

Side Effects

-Generally well-tolerated at recommended doses -High doses may cause sensory neuropathy, characterized by numbness, tingling, or burning sensations in the limbs -Possible gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea and stomach upset

Drug Interactions
