Sulisobenzone, also known as Benzophenone-4, is a water-soluble sunscreen agent that absorbs ultraviolet radiation, specifically UVB and short-wave UVA rays. It is commonly used in various cosmetic and skincare products to protect the skin from the harmful effects of the sun.

Indications

-Sun protection in sunscreens, lotions, creams, and other topical formulations -Used in cosmetic products such as moisturizers, lip balms, and foundations with SPF


Dosage

-Topical application as directed on the product label -Apply generously to all exposed skin areas 15 minutes before sun exposure -Reapply every 2 hours, or more often if swimming or sweating


Contra-Indications

-Hypersensitivity to sulisobenzone or any component of the formulation -Not recommended for use on broken or damaged skin


Special Precautions

-Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water -For external use only If rash or irritation develops, discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider -Keep out of reach of children
