Sulphacetamide Sodium

It is a highly soluble compound yielding neutral solution. It is only mildly irritating to the eye in concentrations upto 30%. It is used topically for ocular infections due to susceptible bacteria & chlamydia, including ophthalmia neonatorum caused by Ch. oculogenit alis. It attains high concentrtion in anterior segment and aqueous humour after topical instillation.


Trachoma, conjunctivitis, blepharitis, iritis, corneal ulcer, ophthalmic neonatorum, injury of eyes, prophylaxis of ocular infections after injuries or burns. Pre & post operative surgery.


1-2 drops 3-4 times daily



Special Precautions

Discontinue if irritation persists. Donot touch dropper tip as it may contaminate the soln. Use withinone month after opening the container.
