TELBIVUDINE
Telbivudine is an antiviral medication used to treat chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It works by inhibiting the replication of the virus, helping to reduce the amount of virus in the body and improve liver function.Chronic Hepatitis B virus infection in adults and children over 16 years old.
The usual dose for adults is 600 mg once daily, taken orally. Dosage may vary based on individual health conditions and should be adjusted by a healthcare professional.
-Hypersensitivity to Telbivudine or any of its components. -Co-administration with pegylated interferon or other antiviral drugs may be contraindicated in some cases.
-Regular monitoring of liver function and HBV viral load is recommended. -Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment; dose adjustments may be necessary. -Not recommended for use during pregnancy unless clearly needed; consult a healthcare provider.
Fatigue, malaise, headache, abdominal pain, Dizziness, insomnia, fever, rash increased lipase, nausea and vomiting, diarrhoea, dyspepsia, cough, flu-like symptoms, lactic acidosis and severe hepatomegaly.
With pegylated interferon alfa-2a, peripheral neuropathy chance increase.
