JGU, Pace University join hands to boost public health psychology, social sciences in academic disciplines

In order to foster long-term partnerships and collaborations across a range of academic fields, including public health, psychology, social sciences, and finance, OP Jindal Global University and Pace University, New York, have teamed together.

During his recent visit to OP Jindal University, Pace University President Professor Marvin Krislov focused on this.

As the two most prominent democracies in the world with deeply ingrained values of pluralism, diversity, and inclusivity, the United States and India play a critical role in advancing the cause of higher education, according to Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University, who spoke about Prof. Krislov's visit to the university. Our societies have also placed a high value on freedoms, including the ability of institutions to uphold and expand civil rights in addition to the individual's right to free speech and expression.

Both nations have made a significant investment in education and acknowledged its capacity to change society. As a result of their shared dedication to education, the US has emerged as a major player in the world arena for some of the best universities. In order to give many different people access and opportunity, it has democratized excellence. In the past 75 years, India has also done it. Institutional partnerships influence a relationship's destiny and go beyond diplomatic and strategic ties at the state level, according to Prof. Kumar.

According to Pace University President Professor Marvin Krislov, "American colleges transform students' lives—and through them families and even communities." Students will need to upgrade their skills to keep up with the changes in the technology landscape over the next ten years, for which we must be ready.

The historic mission of Pace is to make that power accessible. In fact, Pace was named the top private, four-year college for promoting upward economic mobility in a Harvard study a few years ago. College graduates in the United States make significantly more money than non-graduates. In addition to teaching students how to master a subject, American colleges also instill in them the critical thinking, flexibility, resilience, and lifelong learning skills that are essential in a changing economy iii. Students in American colleges are exposed to individuals who are different from us and are given the chance to work together, listen to one another, share knowledge, and collaborate successfully," he continued.

“The U.S. colleges teach students to engage productively with a wider world, how to exist in the adult world. There is a key difference in the demography of India and the US as India has a very large section of the population in the 18-22-year group. There is also a greater desire for higher education and graduate degrees. Access to higher education leads to more economic benefits. We call our educational model the Pace Path — a powerful combination of academic instruction and hands-on experiential learning that sets our students up for success immediately upon graduation,” he added.

OP Jindal University that one of the key highlights of the upcoming visit is the signing of the Semester Abroad Agreement between Jindal Global Business School (JGBS), Jindal School of Banking & Finance (JSBF), and the Lubin School of Business at Pace University.

“This agreement paves way towards creating an exciting and transformative experience for students of O.P Jindal Global University. Under the Semester Abroad Agreement, students from JGBS and JSBF will have the chance to immerse themselves in the dynamic academic environment of the Lubin School of Business. This international exposure will provide them with invaluable and enriching cross-cultural learning experience, gaining access to expert faculty members at Pace University,” the press release issued by the university read.

The release added that furthermore, an agreement for a short-term study abroad programme for JGU students at Pace University will also be signed between Pace University and O.P Jindal Global University.

This agreement offers students from JGU a unique opportunity to participate in the specially designed and customised course that delve deep into the nuances of Business, Entrepreneurship and Finance. Both the agreements aim to empower students with a global perspective and equip them with invaluable skills of a lifetime. These agreements are more than just academic initiatives as they are bridges to a brighter future for students from O.P Jindal Global University, forging lifelong connections and creating well-rounded, globally aware citizens of tomorrow,” it added.
