Recent media reports have stirred concerns about the absence of examination centres for the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) – Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in the Northeastern states. However, these reports lack accuracy.

Contrary to the claims, there are indeed examination centres established in the northeastern region. These centres are located in key cities including Shillong, Naharlagun, Kohima, Aizawl, Guwahati, and Kolkata.

Furthermore, addressing the participation aspect, the second application window for NEET-MDS 2024, which concluded on March 11, 2024, saw a total of 560 candidates registering for the examination.

These clarifications aim to provide accurate information regarding the NEET-MDS examination centres and the participation of candidates in the northeastern states.
