Zydus Wellness Ltd. Reports Strong Financial Performance and Market Leadership for Q4 FY2024
Zydus Wellness Ltd. has reported robust financial performance for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2024, with notable growth across key metrics. The company's net sales stood at Rs. 778 crores, marking a significant increase of 9.6% compared to the same period last year. Moreover, the company recorded a commendable growth in EBIDTA, reaching Rs. 162 crores, representing a year-on-year growth of 12.2%. The company's Profit after Tax (PAT) for the quarter amounted to Rs. 150 crores.
Adjusted PAT, after accounting for exceptional items and one-time deferred tax assets impact, exhibited remarkable growth of 24.7% on a year-on-year basis. Total income from operations for the financial year increased by 3.2% year-on-year to reach Rs. 2328 crores, with reported net profit standing at Rs. 267 crores.
The company attributed its success to continued marketing initiatives, which bolstered the performance of key brands such as Glucon-D, Everyuth, and Nycil. The personal care portfolio, comprising Everyuth and Nycil, drove significant growth for the quarter, recording a remarkable 23% year-on-year growth. Additionally, the Food and Nutrition portfolio also witnessed mid-single-digit growth, with all brands contributing to the overall performance.
Zydus Wellness Ltd. maintained its leadership position in the sugar substitute category, with the Sugar Free brand commanding an impressive market share of 95.9%. The company introduced a new brand, I'mlite, offering consumers a unique formulation of sugar blended with stevia, providing 50% fewer calories than regular sugar.
Glucon-D, the company's flagship brand, continued to dominate the market with a market share of 59.5% at MAT level. Moreover, Glucon-D ventured into the Ready to Drink beverage category with the pilot launch of Glucon-D Activors Electrolyte Energy drink in select states during the quarter.
In the Nutrition Drink Category, the company registered a growth of 6.4% at MAT level, with Complan maintaining a market share of 4.3%. Nycil retained its leading position in the prickly heat powder category with a market share of 35%, while Everyuth Scrub and Peel off maintained their dominance in their respective categories.
