Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers Jagat Prakash Nadda, along with Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers, Ms. Anupriya Patel, presided over a review meeting of the Department of Pharmaceuticals today. The Department provided a comprehensive overview of the Pharma and MediTech sectors, including a detailed presentation on regulatory frameworks and the schemes they implement.

Nadda emphasized the importance of aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of "Viksit Bharat @ 2047" and reviewed both the Five Year Agenda and the 100 Days Action Plan. The Five Year Plan aims to enhance drug security, promote self-reliance (Aatmanirbharta) in medical devices, expand the Jan Aushadhi Scheme, and ensure that medicines and treatments are affordable for all citizens.

The Union Minister directed that there should be a renewed focus on quality, with all drug and medical device manufacturing plants being upgraded to world-class standards within the next three years.
