Made in India Technology Setting Global Footprint, to Revolutionise Healthcare in Nepal

SS Innovations, the innovator of SSI Mantra, India's first surgical robotic system, has hit a major milestone by putting its cutting-edge technology into use at Gwarko, Lalitpur, Nepal's Baidya & Banskota (B&B) Hospital. This is Nepal's first medical robot, set to revolutionise healthcare delivery in the country.

The integration of SSI Mantra into B&B Hospital demonstrates the company’s commitment to making advanced robotic treatments accessible and affordable globally. Nepal will soon have better medical care thanks to this partnership, which will bring advanced robotic-assisted surgery to the country and put B&B Hospital at the forefront of medical innovation in the area.

Commenting on the development, Dr. Vishwa Srivastava, President and COO of SS Innovations, said, "We are very proud to be able to give our Himalayan neighbours in the north this much-needed technology."

“We have full trust that the outstanding doctors at B&B Hospital will help make Nepal's health care better. This job is a strong reminder of why we created the SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System and made it cheap and simple for everyone to get,” he added.

Pointing out that this cutting-edge technology will make it easier to do a number of important specialty treatments, which will greatly improve patient care in Nepal, Prof. Dr. Jagdish Lal Baidya, co-founder of B&B Hospital "We are thrilled to announce that B&B Hospital has become the first institution in Nepal to install the cutting-edge SSI Mantra robotic surgical system."

"Our patients will greatly benefit from the minimally invasive approach and high level of accuracy of SSI Mantra's innovative technology, which will revolutionize surgery," he added.

Stressing that it is a very happy and momentous occasion in the history of the development of surgery in Nepal, and in particular of the services at B&B Hospital, Prof. Dr. Ashok K. Banskota, co-founder of B&B Hospital, said, “We hope that now a lot of Nepali patients will be able to take advantage of the knowledge that makes robotic technology so useful.”

The introduction of SSI Mantra at B&B Hospital not only raises the bar for healthcare in Nepal, but it also shows how important it is to make cutting-edge medical solutions available to everyone, no matter their location or income. This accomplishment strengthens India's place as a global hub for healthcare technology innovation. It also shows how indigenous technology can make healthcare more accessible in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
