Bandra: Free Fungal Infection Check-Up Camp, Medicine Distribution for BMC Staff

The Debabrata Auro Foundation (DAF) and The Esthetic Clinics (TEC) held a Fungal Infection Check-Up Camp and Free Medicines Distribution event at BMC Chowki near Bandra Court. This initiative focused on providing essential healthcare services to BMC Safai Karmcharis, addressing the prevalent issue of fungal infections in this community.

The event began with an awareness session on fungal infections, covering their causes, effects, and preventive measures. This session emphasized the importance of timely treatment and available options. Dermatologists from TEC conducted thorough check-ups for 53 BMC Safai Karmcharis, screening each for fungal infections and providing detailed consultations for those diagnosed. The specialists offered guidance on appropriate treatments and essential hygiene practices to prevent recurrence.

“Following the check-ups, patients diagnosed with fungal infections received prescribed medicines, including creams and tablets, at no cost. We provided detailed instructions on the proper usage of these medicines to ensure effective treatment and prompt recovery,” stated Dr. Rinky Kapoor, Consultant Dermatologist at The Esthetic Clinics.

“The primary goal of this initiative was to educate the community on maintaining proper hygiene practices to prevent the spread of fungal infections. By offering free check-ups, consultations, and medicines, we aimed to empower individuals to take proactive steps in managing their health and well-being. The camp successfully provided necessary medical care and heightened awareness among the BMC Safai Karmcharis,” highlighted Dr. Mitalee Shome.

“The BMC Safai Karmcharis play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our cities, ensuring a healthy and pleasant environment for all residents. It is imperative that we recognize their invaluable contributions and prioritize their well-being. Providing comprehensive healthcare, including regular check-ups to prevent and treat skin conditions and other health issues, is essential. By safeguarding their health, we not only honor their dedication but also enhance their ability to perform their duties effectively. Supporting the Safai Karmcharis is not just a matter of gratitude but a fundamental responsibility that benefits the entire community,” emphasized Dr. Debraj Shome, Senior Cosmetic Surgeon & Director of The Esthetic Clinics.

“The Fungal Infection Check-Up Camp and Free Medicines Distribution event was a significant step towards improving the health conditions of the BMC Safai Karmcharis. The collaboration between Debabrata Auro Foundation and The Esthetic Clinics exemplified a strong commitment to community health. We look forward to organizing similar initiatives in the future to continue supporting those in need,” concluded Ms. Kirti Pandey.
