Health Ministry's Special Campaign 3.0 Achieves Major Milestones in Cleanliness and Efficiency Drive

In alignment with the Government of India's initiative to institutionalize cleanliness (Swachhata) and reduce pendency in government offices, the Department of Health & Family Welfare (DoHFW), under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, has made significant progress under its ongoing ‘Special Campaign 3.0.’ The campaign, which aims to enhance cleanliness and streamline operations across central government hospitals, subordinate offices, autonomous bodies, and public sector undertakings, has been actively pursued nationwide.

Between November 2023 and August 2024, the DoHFW undertook a thorough review of 9,608 files, successfully weeding out 505 outdated or unnecessary files. Moreover, the department addressed a significant number of public grievances and appeals. A total of 25,660 public grievances and 3,146 appeals were resolved on the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS), alongside the disposal of 119 Prime Minister's Office (PMO) references, 286 VIP references, 13 parliamentary assurances, and 53 state government references.

In addition to these administrative accomplishments, the campaign also focused on enhancing physical workspaces. A total of 817 cleanliness drives were carried out, resulting in the disposal and sale of scrap that generated revenue of Rs. 13,37,262/-. This process freed up 13,336 square feet of office space. The campaign also simplified 23 rules, further streamlining government processes.

The DoHFW has emphasised that these initiatives have significantly improved space management and contributed to a healthier working environment in government offices while generating additional revenue from the sale of scrap materials.

Looking ahead, the department is gearing up for the upcoming ‘Special Campaign 4.0,’ scheduled to take place from October 2, 2024, to October 31, 2024. With concerted efforts underway, the DoHFW aims to build on the achievements of Special Campaign 3.0 and ensure the successful realization of the new campaign’s goals.
