50 Jan Aushadhi Kendras Launched in Madhya Pradesh to Offer Affordable Medicines

In a significant move to improve healthcare accessibility, the Government of Madhya Pradesh today inaugurated 50 new Jan Aushadhi Kendras across 50 district hospitals in the state. The initiative aims to provide high-quality generic medicines at affordable prices to the public. The launch event, held at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in Bhopal, was graced by Shri Mangubhai Patel, Governor of Madhya Pradesh, with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav presiding over the ceremony.

These Jan Aushadhi Kendras will offer over 2,000 generic medicines and 300 types of surgical devices, nutraceuticals, and medical products at prices 50% to 90% lower than branded alternatives. The initiative is expected to significantly reduce the out-of-pocket expenditure on healthcare for residents, making essential medications more accessible to the people of Madhya Pradesh.

The program is part of the broader Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), aimed at promoting the use of affordable generic medicines across India, especially benefiting those in rural and underserved areas.
