HCGMCC launches Vansham clinic

HCG Manavata Cancer Centre Launches Vansham Clinic for Hereditary Cancer Screening and Prevention

The HCG Manavata Cancer Centre (HCGMCC), which is Nashik's best cancer centre, has announced the opening of the Vansham Clinic to help more people learn about genetic cancer and get treatment early. The Vansham Clinic's opening is a significant step towards preventing cancer, particularly for people whose genes make them more likely to get it.

"Over 1.4 million new cases of cancer are reported every year in India, which is a very scary trend." "Genetics play a big role in a lot of these cases," said Dr. Raj Nagarkar, MD, Chief of Surgical Oncology and Robotic Services at HCGMCC. "Studies show that people whose family members have had certain types of cancer, like breast, ovarian, or colorectal cancer, have a 5 to 10 percent higher risk of getting cancer themselves." Because of this, genetic screening is essential for early diagnosis and quick action.

In 2007, Dr. Raj Nagarkar opened HCGMCC, which is the first NABH-accredited hospital in Central India. It has over 50 oncologists, 900 other staff members, and 275 beds. As a complete cancer centre, it has done more than 65,000 surgeries, including more than 1,100 with robotic help.

The Vansham Clinic wants to fill in the gaps in what people know about genetic cancer risks and offer personalised medical care. Dr. Nagarkar said that many people don't know about their genetic risk, which means they miss out on chances to get a diagnosis early. The clinic aims to fill this gap by providing advanced genetic counselling, tailored screenings, and preventive care for people who are more likely to get cancer.

The centre has a very specialised staff, with genetic counsellors and experienced oncologists working together to make sure that each patient gets personalised care from the first consultation to long-term follow-up. Dr. Nagarkar said, "At Vansham Clinic, we will offer targeted screenings for cancers that run in families, such as breast, ovarian, and colorectal cancers." Our team of doctors will also offer lifestyle counselling to help patients make smart choices about their health and way of life that will lower their chance of getting cancer. This all-around approach tries to not only find cancers early but also give patients the tools they need to live a cancer-free life.

The clinic's focus on early diagnosis is crucial for how well cancer treatments work. Studies show that finding cancer early greatly increases the chance of life. For instance, individuals diagnosed with breast cancer early have a 99% chance of surviving for five years, compared to only 27% of those diagnosed later.

Vansham Clinic stated that it wants to lower the number of people who get cancer in India in the future by offering ongoing care and screenings. "If we can find cancer early, we can treat it with less invasive methods, lower the cost of healthcare, and ultimately make things better for patients." "Our goal with the Vansham Clinic is to make sure that people who are at high risk get the monitoring and preventive care they need to stay one step ahead of cancer," Dr. Nagarkar stressed.

With the opening of the clinic, HCGMCC continues to work to make cancer care more available and to change the way cancer care is provided in the hopes of one day having conquered cancer.
