Indraprastha Apollo Hospital has reached a significant milestone in advanced orthopedic care with the successful completion of robotic joint replacement surgeries on both knees and the right hip of a 54-year-old housewife from Noida. 

The patient, who had endured rheumatoid arthritis for over 20 years, underwent these transformative procedures despite facing multiple health challenges. The surgeries were conducted by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. (Prof.) Raju Vaishya and his expert team.

For years, the patient managed her rheumatoid arthritis with medications, but her condition worsened in the last two years, leading to severe pain, stiffness, and a considerable decline in mobility. Compounding her difficulties were other serious health issues, including hypertension, hypothyroidism, sleep apnea, and obesity.

In response to these challenges, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital undertook a series of robotic-assisted joint replacement surgeries. The first operation, a right hip replacement, took place in July 2023, followed by a left knee replacement in October 2023, and concluding with a right knee replacement in October 2024. Each surgery was a resounding success, and the patient is now on the road to recovery.
