AIIMS Hosts Workshop on AI in Healthcare, Paving the Way for Technological Transformation

In a pioneering move, AIIMS New Delhi recently hosted an intensive workshop on emerging technologies, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), signaling a bold step towards integrating cutting-edge tools in healthcare. The workshop aimed to equip medical professionals with the skills and knowledge required to harness the transformative potential of AI in the sector, as India’s healthcare industry braces for a technological revolution.


With AI projected to play a key role in India’s healthcare future, the market is expected to reach USD 1.6 billion by 2025, growing at an impressive compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 40.5%. Applications such as personalized medicine, telemedicine, drug discovery, and advanced diagnostics are anticipated to be the driving forces behind this expansion. AIIMS Delhi, widely regarded as a center of excellence in AI, is leading this charge by addressing public health challenges and promoting the integration of AI into everyday healthcare practices.

Empowering Future Healthcare Leaders

Speaking about the initiative, Prof. Kanwal Preet Kochhar from AIIMS New Delhi expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, "We are thrilled to have organized this workshop that brings together leading minds in AI and healthcare. Our goal is to empower our medicos with the skills and knowledge they need to harness AI technologies effectively. By focusing on practical applications and real-world challenges, we are preparing future healthcare leaders to innovate and significantly improve patient outcomes."

The workshop provided medical professionals with hands-on experience in applying AI to healthcare, preparing them for a future where AI-driven tools will play a critical role in diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient management.

The workshop also discussed specialized AI applications, including the development of a Health GPT, designed to provide healthcare-specific solutions by leveraging medical data. Such tools could revolutionize patient care by delivering tailored content and real-time medical insights.
