Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road Spreads Festive Joy with 'Be a Santa' Initiative
Embodying the true spirit of Christmas and social responsibility, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, brought festive cheer to the underprivileged through its heartfelt ‘Be a Santa’ initiative. The hospital’s annual event was a celebration of kindness and goodwill, extending joy and support to marginalized communities and ensuring the season was brighter for those in need.
Christmas is not just a time for festivities but also a moment to reflect on the importance of good health and well-being. With this ethos, Wockhardt Hospitals hosted a lively Fun Fair as part of the initiative, where staff members set up 8 to 10 stalls offering an array of homemade treats. The proceeds from the event were donated to the Ashray Akruti Foundation, an NGO dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Complementing the Fun Fair, a week-long donation drive led to a generous collection of groceries that were also donated to the foundation.
The event fostered a sense of community through moments of reflection and blessings, creating a warm and inclusive environment for all involved. “At Wockhardt Hospitals, we believe in the power of compassion and kindness, particularly during the festive season. Our ‘Be a Santa’ initiative allows us to share the joy of Christmas with those who are often forgotten. It serves as a reminder that the true essence of this time of year lies in the spirit of giving,” shared Ms. Zahabiya Khorakiwala, Managing Director of Wockhardt Hospitals.
Dr. Pankaj Dhamija, Centre Head at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, echoed this sentiment, adding, “We are proud to be able to give back to the community in this meaningful way. Christmas is about spreading love and happiness, and by reaching out to the underprivileged, we hope to make their day a little brighter. This is just one of many initiatives that we continue to undertake to support those in need.”
The impact of the initiative resonated deeply with its beneficiaries. A representative from the Ashray Akruti Foundation expressed heartfelt gratitude: “We are thankful to Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, for organizing such meaningful events and programs that provide much-needed support for our children. We look forward to being a part of many such inspiring initiatives in the future.”
Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, has long upheld its commitment to social responsibility, and initiatives like ‘Be a Santa’ serve to strengthen the bond between the hospital and the communities it serves. Through acts of generosity and care, the hospital continues to make a lasting difference, bringing love, hope, and happiness to those who need it most.
