NURA Launches AI-Driven Health Screening Facility in Kerala, Eyes Global Expansion
NURA, a pioneering diagnostic venture between Fujifilm Healthcare and Dr. Kutty’s Healthcare, has made its debut in Kerala with the launch of an advanced AI-driven health screening facility in Calicut (Kozhikode). The state-of-the-art centre was inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan in the presence of Fujifilm President Mr. Teiichi Goto, Shri V. Abdurahiman, and Mrs. Ayisha Kutti.
This marks a significant milestone in NURA’s mission to revolutionize preventive healthcare in India. Positioned as more than just a screening facility, the Calicut centre also serves as a global training and experiential hub, showcasing cutting-edge healthcare technologies that NURA aims to expand worldwide.
Expanding Preventive Healthcare in India
The Calicut centre is equipped to screen up to 50 individuals daily, offering advanced technology for early and accurate disease detection. Initially focusing on cancer and metabolic syndrome screenings, the facility plans to introduce locomotive syndrome screening and aging-related treatment solutions soon.
NURA has ambitious expansion plans, with new centres set to open in Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, and other major cities in the next year. By 2030, the venture envisions establishing a network of 100 centres globally, making preventive healthcare accessible to people worldwide.
Support from Kerala Leadership
Welcoming NURA to Kerala, Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan emphasized the importance of advanced and affordable screening services in the state.
“We welcome NURA’s entry into Kerala as the state has a dearth of advanced yet affordable screening facilities. The demand for such services is increasing exponentially. We hope NURA expands to other parts of the state to provide high-quality screening services that people desperately need,” he said.
A New Benchmark in Health Tourism
Dr. Mohamed Kasim, Executive Director of NURA Health, highlighted Kerala’s potential as a health tourism hub, noting the state’s rich tradition in Ayurveda and wellness.
“NURA’s presence in Kerala will elevate the state’s healthcare standards and position it on the global map. With our expansion into Chennai, Pune, Gujarat, Jaipur, and beyond, we are committed to making preventive healthcare accessible nationwide,” Dr. Kasim said.
Addressing Lifestyle-Related Health Challenges
Masaharu Morita, Founder and Programme Director of NURA, praised Kerala’s robust public health infrastructure and health-conscious population while emphasizing the growing need for advanced screening centres.
“Kerala has a high incidence of lifestyle-related diseases, which often lead to severe health issues. NURA’s AI-driven screening facilities can play a transformative role in early detection and effective treatment, reducing the burden of these conditions,” Mr. Morita stated.
Driving Innovation and Efficiency
NURA has rapidly expanded its footprint, establishing centres across India, East Asia, ASEAN countries, the Middle East, and Africa. With facilities already operational in Gurugram, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, the Calicut centre is another step in delivering comprehensive health screenings in just 120 minutes. Leveraging Fujifilm’s expertise in healthcare IT and advanced diagnostic technologies, NURA ensures accurate, efficient, and seamless results for its patients.
With its latest expansion, NURA continues to redefine preventive healthcare, offering world-class solutions to tackle the rising burden of lifestyle-related and life-threatening diseases.
