Indications:In cases where ocular inflammation is very severe or there is superadded secondary bacterial infections. Antifungals, antibiotics & keratolytic agents are combined with steroidal preparation individually or in combinations. Use of corticosteroids may interfere with local defence mechanisms, resulting in worsening of existing infection. Long term use of steroidal preparations may lead to corneal thinning & perforation, rise in intraocular pressure & cataract.
Contra-Indications:Allergic and inflammatory conditions of eye.
Special Precautions:Glaucoma, fungal, viral, tuberculous or purulent infections. Hypersensitivity.
Discontinue use if irritation persists. Prolong use may lead to perforation, glaucoma, cataract or fungal infections. Pregnancy, children.
Side Effects:Transient irritation, headache, raised intraocular pressure, perforation
