Cefoperazone
Cefoperazone is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, thereby leading to the death of the bacteria.Cefoperazone is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria, including: -Respiratory tract infections -Urinary tract infections -Skin and soft tissue infections -Bone and joint infections -Intra-abdominal infections -Sepsis
- Adults: Typically, 1 to 2 grams intravenously or intramuscularly every 12 hours, depending on the severity of the infection. -Children: Dosage is adjusted based on body weight and the type of infection. -Note: Always follow the dosage recommended by a healthcare provider.
-Known hypersensitivity to cefoperazone or other cephalosporins. -History of severe allergic reactions to penicillins or other beta-lactam antibiotics. -Neonates with severe jaundice or liver dysfunction.
-Use with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, particularly colitis. -Monitor liver and kidney function during prolonged therapy. -Be cautious in patients with a history of allergies or asthma.

-May interact with anticoagulants, increasing the risk of bleeding. -May reduce the efficacy of oral contraceptives. -Use cautiously with other nephrotoxic or hepatotoxic drugs.
