Ivermectin

Ivermectin

It is a broad spectrum antiparasitic agent which finds selectively with high affinity to glutamate gated chloride ion channels which occur in invertebrate nerve and muscle cell. This leads to an increase in the permeability of cell membrane of chloride ions with hyperpolarisation of nerve or muscle cell resulting in paralysis and death of the parasite.
