OLMESARTAN
Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). By relaxing blood vessels, it helps to lower blood pressure and increase blood flow.-Hypertension -Reduction of cardiovascular risk in patients with high blood pressure
-Adult dose: Typically, 20 mg once daily. Depending on the patient's response, the dose may be increased to 40 mg once daily. -Pediatric dose: Not recommended for children under 6 years. Dosage varies for children aged 6-16 based on weight.
-Hypersensitivity to Olmesartan or any of its components -Pregnancy (second and third trimesters) -Severe renal impairment -Biliary obstruction
-Monitor renal function periodically in patients with renal impairment. -Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment or biliary obstructive disorders. -Avoid use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. -Monitor blood pressure regularly.
-Common: Dizziness, headache, and back pain -Serious: Kidney problems, high potassium levels, severe allergic reactions, and low blood pressure
-Potassium-sparing diuretics -Potassium supplements or salt substitutes -Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) -Lithium -Other antihypertensive agents
