With an aim to provide affordable medicines to patients, Delhi-AIIMS  opened a second unit of Amrit Pharmacy in the campus on June 12, 2023, 

The new Pharmacy was opened in the New Rajkumari Amrit Kaur (RAK) OPD, which was inaugurated by Delhi-AIIMS director,  Prof M Srinivas. 

“Amrit Pharmacy is a Government of India’s endeavour to provide subsidised quality medicines to patients. This is the second Amrit Pharmacy in AIIMS. The first one was opened in 2015 in the old building,” Dr Nirupam Madan, Additional Spokesperson of Delhi AIIMS said.

“Since the OPD was shifted to a new building (RAK OPD) it became difficult for patients to move to the older building as it was far away from the new building. Now both pharmacies will continue to run. All the medicines prescribed by the departments will be available in the OPD at subsidized rates,” she added.
