Delhi-AIIMS to Set Up New Critical Care Block

Delhi-AIIMS is preparing to open a new critical care block at its Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Center, aiming to improve care for seriously ill patients. AIIMS Director, Prof. M. Srinivas, shared the news during a media briefing on New Year’s Eve at the Ramalinga Board Room.

“This facility is not just an addition—it will change how we handle critical cases,” Prof. Srinivas said. The new block will have 200 beds and advanced medical equipment to treat the most serious and urgent conditions. “With better technology and resources, we want to meet the rising need for specialized care,” he explained.

The critical care block will increase the hospital’s capacity to treat patients who need constant attention and advanced treatments. This will ensure AIIMS remains a leader in providing top-quality medical care in India.

The new block will help handle emergencies, post-surgery care, and patients needing intensive monitoring. More details about when the block will be ready and what it will include are expected in the coming months, keeping patients and healthcare workers eager for this important development.
