VS International Precision Oncology Summit elevates global cancer care standards

In a significant stride towards advancing cancer care worldwide, VS Hospitals and VS Medical Trust successfully hosted the VS International Precision Oncology Summit (VIPOS 2024) on February 10th and 11th, 2024. The two-day summit, attended by over 100 faculties and 200 delegates from esteemed cancer centres, showcased the latest advancements in cancer treatment and highlighted the pivotal role of precision oncology.


The summit, convened by Prof. Dr. S. Subramanian, the Senior Most Practising Medical Oncologist in India, and organised in Chennai recently under the theme of personalising cancer treatment through cutting-edge technologies and therapies, brought together healthcare professionals to explore recent updates in cancer screening, diagnostics, prognostics, therapeutics, and comprehensive care.

Discussions at VIPOS 2024 spanned a broad spectrum of topics, including haematological malignancies such as lymphomas, leukaemias, myelomas, Hodgkin’s disease, MDS, solid tumours like breast, lung, head and neck, colon, prostate, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, liquid biopsy, and more. The summit emerged as a catalyst for shaping future cancer care strategies, fostering a collaborative environment for clinicians and researchers.

Prof. Dr. S. Subramanian, also the programme director and organising summit chairperson, underscored the event's significance in advancing personalised cancer treatment. He emphasised the role of VIPOS 2024 in creating a platform for exchanging ideas and driving the evolution of oncology care towards precision and innovation.

The Medical Director of the VS Group of Hospitals, Prof. Dr. S. Sundar, and the Executive Director, Mr. S. Muthu Subramanian, echoed the commitment of the VS Group to advancing oncology through innovation and collaboration. They anticipated positive outcomes from the summit, anticipating new possibilities and hope for cancer patients globally.

Joining the distinguished lineup, Dr. Sankar Srinivasan and Dr. K. Kalaichelvi, esteemed medical oncologists from Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, brought invaluable insights and expertise to the discussions, enriching the collaborative dialogue on the future of cancer care.
