Empowering Women: Sakra World Hospital Hosts Inspire Inclusion Walkathon in Bengaluru

Sakra World Hospital in Bengaluru marked International Women’s Day with a spirited walkathon dubbed #InspireInclusion. The event, held on Friday, was inaugurated by esteemed Chief Guest Ms. Archana Jois, a renowned actress famed for her roles in the blockbuster K.G.F movies. Ms. Jois, a recipient of the 8th SIIMA Awards for Best Supporting Actress in Kannada cinema, is not only celebrated for her on-screen prowess but also for her staunch advocacy for women's rights. Her presence at the event left a lasting impact on the participants as she shared profound insights and empowering experiences.


More than 400 individuals from both the corporate sector and the general public enthusiastically joined the walkathon, which aimed to celebrate women's achievements while advocating for inclusivity and empowerment in society. The event served as a platform to raise awareness about crucial issues such as gender equality, diversity, and the significance of inclusion across all domains of life.

"Women deserve recognition every day for their historical contributions and their role in inspiring future generations. Each woman's success serves as a beacon of hope, urging us to rally behind and uplift one another. Let's stand together courageously, forging a world where every woman can thrive," remarked Ms. Jois, igniting the start of the walkathon.

Recognizing the pivotal role that healthy women play in the well-being of their families and society at large, the walkathon emphasized the importance of women's holistic wellness. Additionally, the event aimed to challenge stereotypes and stigmas that women encounter daily, particularly concerning their health and social well-being.

Addressing the gathering, PJ Gurupradha Poonja, Associate Vice President of Sakra World Hospital, Bengaluru, expressed delight in hosting the #InspireInclusion Walkathon. He emphasized the hospital's commitment to fostering an environment of inclusivity and respect for all. "A woman is always exceptional and can never be ordinary. It is our mission to honour women's achievements, promote diversity, advocate for equality, and champion women's health," he stated.

Ms. Nita Veigas, Head of Human Resources at Sakra World Hospital Bengaluru, stressed the importance of women reshaping their self-perception and taking the lead, not only in pursuing their aspirations but also in prioritizing their health. "It is crucial to prioritize women's health and embrace their overall well-being—mind, body, and spirit—for holistic wellness," she emphasized.
