Coal India Limited and Indraprastha Apollo Hospital Join Forces to Enhance Thalassemia Treatment for Children

In a major healthcare collaboration, Coal India Limited (CIL) and Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster thalassemia treatment for children. The partnership, under CIL’s Thalassemia Bal Seva Yojna initiative, aims to expand support for children suffering from thalassemia and severe aplastic anemia who require bone marrow transplants. The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Thalassemics India, represents a significant step in improving care for young patients in India.

Dr. Gaurav Kharya, Director of the Centre for Bone Marrow Transplant & Cellular Therapy at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, highlighted the transformative potential of the partnership. “This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in our mission to transform the lives of children battling thalassemia and severe aplastic anemia. With the support of Coal India, we are pushing boundaries to offer these children not just hope but the promise of a healthier, brighter future,” said Dr. Kharya.
