HMIF takes quality healthcare to India's highest altitudes

Hyundai Motor India Foundation Expands Healthcare Reach with 10 Telemedicine Centres and four Mobile Medical Units

Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), has taken a significant leap in healthcare accessibility by inaugurating 10 Telemedicine Centres and launching 4 Mobile Medical Units as part of its Sparsh Sanjeevani healthcare initiative. The newly established centres and units will serve 4 states and 2 union territories, including some of the most remote and challenging regions of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, ensuring that quality healthcare services reach some of the highest altitudes in India.

The inauguration of the Telemedicine Centres and Mobile Medical Units was officiated by Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, at a special event held at the India Habitat Centre in Delhi.

The Sparsh Sanjeevani initiative aims to bridge the healthcare gap in underserved rural regions by providing essential medical consultations and diagnostic services to patients in hard-to-reach areas. With this expansion, HMIF now operates 50 Telemedicine Centres and 10 Mobile Medical Units across India, benefiting a rural population of over 1.3 million people.

Highlighting the importance of this healthcare initiative, Mr. Puneet Anand, Vertical Head of Corporate Communication & Social at HMIL, stated, "Good health is the cornerstone of holistic development. Aligned with Hyundai’s global vision of 'Progress for Humanity,' the Sparsh Sanjeevani program is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of people in remote and underserved areas. By extending our reach to the highest union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, these Telemedicine Centres will ensure essential medical consultations and services reach communities living in the most challenging terrains."

The initiative's Mobile Medical Units, specially designed Hyundai Mighty vans equipped with medical technology, will travel through remote areas, offering proactive diagnostics and healthcare consultations to those who need them most.

Prataprao Jadhav lauded the effort, stating, "The introduction of these Telemedicine Centres and Mobile Medical Units is a significant step toward bridging the healthcare gap in remote areas. This initiative will make a lasting impact on the lives of many, ensuring that vital medical services and diagnostics reach those who may otherwise face great difficulties in accessing healthcare."

Through partnerships with TSL Foundation and Karma Healthcare, Hyundai's Sparsh Sanjeevani initiative continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing the well-being of rural populations across India.
