India-Estonia Partnership to Revolutionise Healthcare: Gennet Lab and STL Drive Digital Transformation

In a major step towards transforming healthcare through digital innovation, Gennet Lab Ltd., one of Estonia’s leading IT healthcare companies, has entered into a significant partnership with India's Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL). The collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in association with the Estonian Embassy, aiming to bring advanced technological solutions to the healthcare sector.

Gennet Lab, established in 1991, has long been a pioneer in eHealth solutions. By joining forces with STL, a global leader in digital infrastructure, this partnership is set to empower hospitals with real-time data access, optimized workflows, and enhanced patient care outcomes. The MOU represents a fusion of expertise in digital infrastructure and healthcare technology, with a strong emphasis on eHealth, AI, and cybersecurity.

Egon Veermäe, CEO of Gennet Lab, highlighted the significance of the collaboration: "This partnership is a crucial step in our mission to revolutionize healthcare and security infrastructures globally. By combining our expertise with STL, we are pushing the boundaries of digital healthcare solutions."

STL’s CEO, Praveen Cherian, echoed this enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled to partner with Gennet and drive digital transformation in healthcare management. Our goal is to create a decentralized Health Management Information System (HMIS) that rigorously monitors and improves the healthcare delivery system, ensuring better patient outcomes."

Estonia's commitment to digital innovation was further underscored by Her Excellency Ms. Marje Luup, who emphasized the country's dedication to supporting India’s digital transformation efforts. "We are working closely with both Central and State Governments in India to support their digitalization efforts, particularly in healthcare and critical infrastructure," she said, adding that Estonia's economic success is closely tied to its leadership in digital transformation.

The collaboration between Gennet Lab and STL focuses on addressing key challenges in healthcare, such as localized HMIS solutions and improving cybersecurity. Vivek Nigam, Sales Head at STL, highlighted, “By leveraging STL’s digital expertise, we aim to streamline hospital operations and enhance patient care with secure, data-driven solutions.”

Since 2022, Gennet Lab has been actively working with the Government of India to support its digital mission. Dharmendra Singh, Director of Gennet Lab India, emphasized the company's role in advancing healthcare initiatives: "Our first step is to align with India’s digital mission, particularly in areas like Hospital Management Information Systems and personalized medicine."

This partnership not only strengthens the bond between India and Estonia but also highlights the growing importance of digital infrastructure in addressing global healthcare challenges. Gennet Lab’s rich history of innovation in healthcare technology, including its work on Estonia’s National eHealth project, positions it as a key player in the ongoing digital transformation.

Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL), renowned for its contributions to building 5G, rural, and data center networks, brings a wealth of expertise to this partnership, aiming to redefine healthcare management through cutting-edge digital infrastructure.
