Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J P Nadda is set to introduce three major initiatives at the Ayushman Bharat Gunvatta Swasthya event on June 28, 2024, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The event will also be attended by Ministers of State for Health and Family Welfare, Jadhav Prataprao Ganpatrao and Anupriya Singh Patel.

One of the key initiatives is the launch of a virtual NQAS (National Quality Assurance Standards) assessment for Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAM) Sub-centres. This innovation aims to enhance the quality assurance framework for public health facilities, offering a time and cost-effective solution. Health facilities that pass this virtual assessment will be awarded the NQAS certificate.

The Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) guidelines, initially introduced in 2007 and most recently updated in 2022, set quality benchmarks for public health facilities from primary to secondary levels. These standards ensure consistent, accessible, and accountable healthcare services across the nation. To support health institutions in meeting these standards, the Health Ministry has developed a dashboard to help national, state, and district health facilities monitor and achieve compliance with IPHS standards. This IPHS dashboard will be launched by the Union Health Minister during the event.

Additionally, the National Quality Assurance Standards for Integrated Public Health Laboratories (IPHL) located at District Hospitals will be released. These standards aim to improve the quality and reliability of testing systems in IPHLs, thereby increasing the trust of clinicians, patients, and the public in lab results. Revised guidelines for the Kayakalp initiative will also be unveiled.

A new functionality for the instant issuance of licenses and registrations through the Food Safety and Compliance System (FoSCoS) will be introduced. FoSCoS is a cutting-edge, pan-India IT platform designed to streamline food safety regulatory processes, enhancing the user experience.

The event will be attended by key stakeholders, including senior officials from Central and State Governments, healthcare providers, and international health organizations.
